Welcome to the official Town of Homer website. On this page you’ll find all of our day-to-day services and contact information.
The Town of Homer is located in Central New York approximately 30 minutes from the City of Syracuse, and is the third-largest municipality in Cortland County (2010 U.S. Census population, 6405) with respect to population.
It contains the Village of Homer, which is an historic community that was first settled in 1791 along and near the banks of the Tioughnioga River. One block west of the River is Main Street in the Village, along which remains a relatively unspoiled 19th century downtown with a Village Green surrounded by churches, houses and the elementary school.

Supervisor Update
The Town Board continues to focus on maintaining infrastructure, improving facilities, and planning responsibly for the future. Recent efforts include ongoing renovations to the Town Hall lower level and continued highway maintenance and seasonal preparation. The Board is also working on long-term infrastructure planning, reviewing solar project agreements, enhancing Clerk’s Office services, supporting employees through Paid Family Leave, and coordinating with regional partners to strengthen the community.

Tomorrow is the day! Residents are invited to stop by the Town Hall Open House to tour the newly renovated downstairs lower level, including the new Village Police Department and Conference Room. A brief dedication will be held at 10:10 AM, featuring remarks from Village and Town Historian Martin Sweeney,
