Welcome to the official Town of Homer website. On this page you’ll find all of our day-to-day services and contact information.
The Town of Homer is located in Central New York approximately 30 minutes from the City of Syracuse, and is the third-largest municipality in Cortland County (2010 U.S. Census population, 6405) with respect to population.
It contains the Village of Homer, which is an historic community that was first settled in 1791 along and near the banks of the Tioughnioga River. One block west of the River is Main Street in the Village, along which remains a relatively unspoiled 19th century downtown with a Village Green surrounded by churches, houses and the elementary school.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Preliminary Budget of the Town of Homer for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2027, has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk, located at 31 North Main Street, Homer, New York 13077, where it is available for inspection by any interested person during regular office hours.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Homer will hold a public hearing on the Preliminary Budget on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the Town of Homer Town Hall, 31 North Main Street, Homer, New York 13077.
At the public hearing, any person may be heard in favor of or against the Preliminary Budget, or any item or items contained therein.
Pursuant to Town Law § 108, the proposed annual salaries of the following elected Town officers for fiscal year 2027 are as follows:

Supervisor Update
As summer comes to a close the Town of Homer continues important work on roads, Town Hall, finances and community policies. This September 2026 Supervisor’s Report highlights the latest speed-sign data from Sweeney and Creal Roads. It also covers the continued work on the Town’s Solar Law and seasonal-road procedures.
